What is Lipogaine minoxidil?

Lipogaine is a brand of hair loss treatment products. The most popular product in their line is Lipogaine minoxidil. Minoxidil is the most widely used hair loss product for pattern baldness and is FDA approved. It was formulated for hair regrowth on people experiencing pattern hair loss which is hereditary. Lipogaine minoxidil is a custom formula which contains much more ingredients than your typical solution. Its available in a men’s and women’s version. It comes in a 2 oz bottle with an application dropper which should last one month if used as directed.

Lipogaine Ingredients

We get a lot of questions about Lipogaines ingredients such as, “Does Lipogaine contain Ketoconazole or Does Lipogaine have minoxidil?” So lets discuss what Lipogaines ingredients.

Lipogaine has numerous ingredients compared to the typical minoxidil solutions on the market. What makes Lipogaine unique is that on top of minoxidil, it contains a proprietary herb blend of DHT blockers such as azetinol, saw palmetto extract, beta-sitosterol, oleic acid, and linolenic acid. These DHT blockers is what sets Lipogaine apart from its competitors. Minoxidil is for hair growth but the DHT blockers are to slow down and stop hair loss.

The active ingredient which helps hair growth is minoxidil 5%. The inactive ingredients are water, propylene glycol, ethanol, saw palmetto, fatty acids, beta-sitosterol, oleic acid, gamma and linolenic acid, biotin, polyphenol, niacin, biotiny-tripeptide, and vitamin B6.

So as you can see, Lipogaine does contain minoxidil but does not contain ketoconazole.

How To Apply Lipogaine

Lipogaine comes in a 2oz bottle and along with a dropper. Using the dropper, apply up to 1ml of Lipogaine directly to your scalp in the thinning areas. Use your finger tips to spread the solution on your scalp. Wash your hands afterwards.

You may apply Lipogaine to toweled dry hair. Do not wash hair or go swimming for at least 3 hours after application. Apply the solution two times per day with at least 8 hours between applications.

Does Lipogaine really work?

Lipogaine does work and there are numerous studies that show it does work effectively for a large percentage of users. Like many products, it doesn’t work for everyone but does work for a very large percentage. The active ingredient is minoxidil which is the first product approved by the FDA for hair regrowth. The best thing to do is to use the product as directed for at least 4 months to see if the product is working for you. If your one of the many lucky ones that Lipogaine works for, great, continue to use it. If after the 4 months, you don’t notice a difference at all, then stop using the product but at least you gave it a try.

If Lipogaine is effective in regrowing your hair, then you must continue to use the product each day. If you discontinue using the product, any hair growth you benefited from will eventually begin to fall out.

Does Lipogaine have side effects?

Side effects are rare, however, the most common are itching and scalp irritation of the treated area. If you do experience these reactions, then you are most likely allergic to the inactive ingredient propylene glycol. Try switching to a minoxidil solution that doesn’t contain propylene glycol. If the irritation persists, then consult with a doctor. In very rare situations, some people may experience chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness, or dizziness. Stop using the product immediately if this happens.

Lipogaine vs Minoxidil

Lipogaine is a brand and one of their products is Lipogaine minoxidil which is formulated to regrow hair. They have a men’s version and a women’s version. Minoxidil is the active ingredient in the Lipogaine minoxidil products. Basically, Lipogaine minoxidil is minoxidil but minoxidil is not necessarily Lipogaine as there are several different brands of minoxidil.

Lipogaine vs Rogaine

While most people probably have never heard of Lipogaine. They have products for both men and women and have a topical solution version as well as a foam version. Lipogaine also has products for both men and women, however, they just have a topical solution version but no foam. The active ingredient in both brands is minoxidil, however, Lipogaine is a custom solution which also contains ingredients DHT blockers that Rogaine does not. Lipogaine is more expensive than the leading brand Rogaine because it is a custom formulation.
